I’m a day late to WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY.

A day most people assume will never apply to them.

And then even when it does, it usually takes a long time to come to terms with it.

I believe this is partly due to the stigma that comes with having a mental health issue.

Mental health needs to be rebranded and actually called out for what it is in my opinion.

When your brain is not healthy, the warning signals it will give you come in the form of depression, anxiety, ADHD, memory issues and the like.

Just like when your heart is not healthy, the warning signals it will give you is high blood pressure, a fast or slow heart rate, an irregular heartbeat and so on.

Or if your thyroid is not healthy, its warning signals might include weight gain, hair loss, skin issues and challenges with regulating temperatures.

Here’s what I know to be true…

If you are struggling with one of the “mental health” issues and are trying to improve things, then you need to take a step back and even away from the “mental health” issue itself and look at the bigger picture.

What is the current level of your brain health?

If your brain is not healthy, your mind will always struggle.

In fact…

If you get the brain healthy, your mind will ALWAYS follow.

I believe firmly that we should not call these symptoms “mental health” challenges, but instead call them what they actually are…

Brain health issues, which is something that is completely fixable.

You just have to put your focus on what is actually CAUSING the symptoms – depression, anxiety, etc.

Once you know the cause, you will be able fix the symptom.

So I’m here to say I see you and there’s another way.

And beyond that, I am here if you need someone to talk to because sometimes you just need to have a listening ear and maybe a different perspective on the matter.

I’m also here for advice and support for YOU.

My DMs are always open. Because YOU are important.
