We all know that childhood phrase, “stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” couldn’t be further from the truth.
Words can be hurtful and can create some of the deepest wounds.
So here’s the question…
How are you speaking about yourself?
Did you know that negative attitudes can create chronic stress, which can lead to the following:
- Upset hormone balance
- Deplete the brain chemicals required for happiness
- Damages the immune system
Ultimately, chronic stress decreases your lifespan.
And that’s not even getting into body image.
