How about a little behind the scenes?! Social media is full of picture perfect everything, but I’m ready to share with you the organized chaos that makes it happen and my secret weapon for maintaining my sanity while making it all happen.
My day’s begin somewhere between 3:30 and 4am!
No, this is not an ideal time to wake up, but if I want some uninterrupted time to work on my board certification in nutrition, workout, work on my online biz, and walk our pup, I have to beat my kiddo out of bed.
Once he’s up, mom mode fully kicks in and it’s time to get ready for our day.
Once we arrive at my clinic, I switch into doc mode. My son gets to come with me, which is great!
With the help of my parents and brother, who all work at the clinic too, my son gets to homeschool at the office. He LOVES it!
He’s a busy boy too! While my schedule is packed with back to back patients, my dad helps get him to all of his different sports.
I am so blessed to have my amazing family and also to be able to help people near and far thanks to technology allowing me to do my version of “telehealth”.
Once the work day is done, it’s back to mom mode! I generally go straight from work to pick my son up from the day’s sport for him.
Then it’s dinner, walk a pup and get the boy ready for bed. Once he’s asleep, it’s my turn… the day ends generally around 10pm. Uffda!
The days are stacked, which makes building the online side of what I do a fun challenge!
Tomorrow, I’m batch recording the next 20 episodes for my YouTube channel! This will be a full-day affair, but it’s the only way to make sure I have quality content going out to my audience on a regular basis.
Saturday morning, I’ll be doing my next photo shoot! Yep, I take all of my photos I use for social media and marketing each month too! This time, I’m also shooting photos of my mom for her online business adventure.
Weekends are filled with sports, swimming, hiking and then… all that fun domestic stuff.
I love to cook and it’s important to me to provide healthy meals for my family, but I definitely don’t have time to do it on a daily basis. So on Sunday’s, I batch cook several meals for us to eat on through the week until the next weekend arrives when I can do it all over again.
When I’ve shared my day to day with some of my friends, they say they’re worn out from just listening to everything that has to happen in my days. They’ve often said they don’t know how I get it all done.
So what’s my secret weapon for getting everything done and still maintaining my sanity – Batch Creation – it’s how I manage to get so much done in life! Haha! It simply wouldn’t work otherwise.
So why am I sharing this? Because I think every single parent entrepreneur needs to know that they are NOT ALONE in the chaos of taking care of all the details in life.
We’re all in it. And we’ve all got more going on than the picture perfect that fills our social.
SO I’m hoping that letting you see behind the scenes of my life will help you feel more “normal” with your work/life balance too.
I GOT YOU! And we’ve got this.
Single parent entrepreneurs, the true hero’s of the world!
