Did you know your body holds onto extra fat and weight as a protective mechanism?
Let me ask you a question…
Have you ever lost weight only to end up gaining it all back and then some shortly thereafter?
That is so FRUSTRATING right?!
Here’s the thing though, it makes complete sense when you look at excess weight as part of your body’s protective mechanism.
If you drop a lot of weight but don’t address WHY your body is in a protective state, then your body is going to regain the weight to be able to protect itself again.
Let me give you a more clear example of why your body would do this.
Say, unbeknownst to you, your body is full of toxins that it can no longer eliminate properly.
The last line of defense your body has to protect you from those toxins is to surround the toxin with fat.
So when you lose a bunch of weight, you’re actually smaller in size right?
Well, if you’re smaller in size but you didn’t manage to get rid of the toxins at the same time, you’re actually more toxic because you have the same amount of toxins in a smaller body now.
Does that make sense?
This is just one of the countless reasons why you shouldn’t purely focus on weight loss if you’re really after improving your health.
