What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
I’m not talking a couple butterflies in your stomach scary, I’m talking truly frightening, big time, SCARY.
Was it something in your business? Was it facing a long-time fear AND overcoming it?
I remember when I was younger thinking that clowns were absolutely terrifying.
Of course, reading Stephen King’s “It” only fueled that fire.
It took a while for me to feel comfortable going into the bathroom or walking past gutters without feeling like It was going to pop out.
Looking back now I see that there are a lot scarier things in the world.
One of my mom’s life-long friends shared with me a little detail about fear that has stuck with me ever since.
Fear = False Evidence Appearing Real.
Now, while sometimes having a fear around something is a protective measure, like being fearful of crossing paths with a grizzly.
However, when we are living life from a fear-based stance, we are often paralyzed in being able to make appropriate decisions or in being able to see things clearly.
Fear-based living keeps us from being able to move forward in life and from achieving our goals.
When you’re able to move out of this mindset, your whole world opens back up.
Clowns no longer scare me. It’s been a while since I thought about It popping out of a gutter too and, thankfully, I have zero issues walking into a bathroom.
So, let’s celebrate the scary things we overcome! Each one is a win in my book!
