Have you ever known someone who had a heart attack suddenly or even ended up with a cancer diagnosis after a routine check up even though they seemed to be incredibly healthy?

If so, I would imagine you found yourself wondering why that happened to them.

If someone can end up with these scary health issues even though they appear to be taking care of themselves, then what does that mean for the individuals who are not putting forth the effort to better their health?

It’s easy to think we’re healthy when everything appears to be fine, right?

Here’s the thing…

We have an amazing ability to compensate and our reserve tank is deep.

Thankfully, we don’t end up with symptoms as soon as our body compensates either because if we did, we would be miserable all of the time.

Slowly, the body continues to compensate and our reserve tank starts running low.

It’s only after our bodies haven’t been working at an optimal level and our reserve tank is beginning to dwindle that we finally begin to experience symptoms.

So how do we end up with the above mentioned “unexpected” health issues?

Let me share a couple little known facts with you first.

Did you know you could only have 20% kidney or liver function and have essentially NO signs or symptoms?

Yet, if your function drops to 19% you find yourself on the liver transplant list or on kidney dialysis for the rest of your life.

Or, how about the fact that you can only have 10% pancreas function and have virtually NO signs or symptoms either?

This is probably one of the main explanations for why a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is so grim.

So here’s the thing…

Your body does NOT give you symptoms as soon as something goes wrong. They only appear after the body has been working in a hap-hazard fashion for a while.

Symptoms are your body’s warning signs that something is wrong. They should never be ignored nor should they ever just be managed.

Ultimately, how seemingly healthy people end up with potentially deadly diagnoses is because of this…

“How you FEEL is NOT the best indicator of how healthy you are.”

By the time you realize you’re no longer healthy, you have a much longer and more challenging road to try and regain your health.

Bottom Line: You need to live a life that supports KEEPING your health daily.

I’d love to know your thoughts on this. Does any of this make sense to you or give you a new perspective?
