Sitting and sleeping too much can increase your chances of early death.

There are numerous vital functions that depend on our bodies movement. The most easily recognized one, our circulation. We were meant to be dynamic individuals, not static. That’s where the ill health effects come in.

Check out this list that the Mayo Clinic put together:

  • It hurts your heart
  • Can cause early death
  • Increases your chances of developing dementia
  • Can’t reverse effects of sitting for 7 hrs/day with exercise
  • Increase the risk of diabetes
  • You could get deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Causes weight gain
  • It can spike anxiety levels
  • Wrecks your back
  • Leads to varicose veins
  • More likely to develop osteoporosis
  • Cancer risk increases

Research has shown that the body responds best when it’s active for even 5 minutes every hour. You’d be surprised how much more alert and productive and less achy you might be if you made it a point to get up and move around more.

If you’re drinking enough WATER, you should need to use the facility at least every hour. Take the scenic route. Visit a restroom on a different floor if you have the option to do so. Whatever you do, just move!

Here’s to being Healthy!
